FAQs

We often get asked similar questions about our training contracts at TLT, so to make it easier for you we've put together a few answers to those most commonly posed. If you have a question we haven't answered here, simply email our Graduate Recruitment Officer, Bee Yazdani.

What are the deadlines for Vacation Scheme and Training Contract applications?

For the Vacation Scheme, it's January 31st of each year. For Training Contracts, it's July 31st of each year.

What is your attitude to non-law students?

At TLT, it's not necessarily about what you've studied – it's your personal qualities that count. We're looking for your commercial awareness, drive and a real commitment to law.

What is your attitude to mature applicants?

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Mature applicants can bring experience in other areas of industry that can be a huge advantage as you build your career.

Can I still apply if I have a 2:2?

Because we receive such a large number of applications, we can only accept a 2:1 or First, although genuinely mitigating circumstances will be considered.

Can I get feedback on my application?

We like to give feedback however because of the volume of applications, we are only able to do so for those who attend a vacation scheme or assessment centre.

Do you have compulsory LPC electives?

No but we require our future trainees to choose electives that are relevant to our practice areas.

How much choice do trainees get in the allocation of seats?

We've around 26 seats that you could work in, and we'll always ask you for your preferences before rotation. There are no compulsory seats but the business’ needs have to be prioritised as well as your preferences.

Is there an active sports and social calendar?

We've got an active social calendar, which includes inter-firm sporting events and other social activities. These are open to all TLT employees so trainees get to meet people across the firm. There is something for everyone including annual summer parties, local social events and charity dos.
